Church History

January 1998.  A group of believers with a pioneering spirit and members of the Bayanan SDA Church located at Imus, Cavite, Philippines started to gather and hold Sabbath Services at the house of Bro. Norlito Sacro.  The Bayanan SDA Church Board under the leadership of Bro. Romy Doctolero has finally approved their request.  This group consisting of more or less five families includes Sis. Judith Ciubal, Catipay family, families of Bros. Alan Paul and Wenzel Buaquiña, Mirasol Family, including Sis. Ruth Kaimo, who are residents of Bahayang Pag-Asa  subdivision and other neighboring villages, saw the need of a church in this vicinity.

As the community became progressive, more and more believers became regular members of this small church.

The efforts of these pioneering families became a light that shines brightly in Pag-asa, a beacon that welcomes the weary soul; a refuge for those who are tired and lost; and the answer to those who are hungry and thirsting for the Word of God.

The members became dedicated workers for the Lord.  With the guidance of the Lord, they were all involved in spreading the Gospel.  Evangelistic efforts such as Bible study groups, evangelism, voice of prophecy class, etc. were conducted.  God saw their efforts and blessed the church with His goodness and mercy.  Soon more people were baptized.

Today, the church still sits in the same humble abode and every Sabbath the church overflows with believers, interests and visitors who come regularly to experience the warmth fellowship of the brethren and the blessings of God.  The church is now wanting of space to accommodate more people.

An average of 100 people every Sabbath cannot sit comfortably in a 60 square meter church floor area.

The Pag-asa Seventh-day Adventist Church strongly believes the Bible passage in Psalm 23:6 -

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
